If you never read these you will not be missing
much. They have the same basic information as the ones I recommend
above. Most are not very good and some are just story information.
World
Poker Tour (Mike Sexton): I do
not recommend this book to anyone except those that want to
get excited about being in the World Poker Tour. The book is
a giant advertisement why someone should play in the WPT. It
offers almost no useful information to anyone that takes poker
even semi-seriously. I felt ripped off buying this book.
In
the Money (Antonio Esfandiari): Antonio's book
talks about very general strategies, but nothing that an experienced
player would get much out of. The book mostly gives you an idea
into Antonio's playing style. A lot of the book is Antonio talking
about himself and his experiences. The useful information within
the book could be compressed within about 20 pages in my opinion
with most not useful to starting players.
Holdem
Excellence (Lou Krieger): A fair book with some
useful information on holdem, but not recommended as a base
for holdem.
Killer
Poker Online and Killer Poker Holdem handbook (John Vorhaus):
I did not like this book and found the information
not too useful in my game. Sections on how to represent yourself
at a table and what to expect of others.
Winner's
Guide to Texas Holdem (Ken Warren): The book
has some nice statistics on the game but I do not agree with
the play recommendations.
Internet
Poker (Lou Krieger): A fair book with some useful
information on holdem, but not recommended as a base for holdem.
Zen
of Poker (Larry W. Phillips): Even more good
wisdom for playing poker.
