Phil Gordan's Little Green Book for a starters book, excellent to get you the basics.
Play some to get familiar with the strategies for no limit. Play at a limit you feel comfortable. When you are ready read the book below.
Sklansky/Miller's No Limit: Theory and Practice is the more advanced book for no limit. For many it is the bible of no limit play.
Once you get a feel for the game really advance it for professional help from players that made the big money at Card Runners. It is worth the money if you are serious about the game.

Start off with Lee Jones Winning Low Limit Holdem. Its an easy read and gets the correct concept to play with.
The next book, and bible of limit holdem, is Ed Miller's Small Stakes Holdem. Excellent book to advance your game.
Once you get a feel for the game really advance it for professional help from players that made the big money at Card Runners. It is worth the money if you are serious about the game.
When dealing with advanced opponents read Ciaffone's Middle Limit Holdem Poker and for high stakes limit games I recommend Winning in Tough Hold 'em Games

Tao of Poker (Larry W. Phillips)
Table Psycology: How to act, what to think, how to be at a poker table.
Inside the Poker Mind (John Feeney Ph.D):
Reading other players: Learn your opponent's body language and what it means. Both these books paid for themselves the first night after I read them.
Caro's Book of Poker Tells (Mike Caro)
